India holds a powerful position in the international heavy automobiles arena as it is the largest tractor producer, second-largest bus manufacturer, and third largest heavy vans producer on the earth. On a glowing spring morning, I meet David Nelson, head of design at architects Foster and Partners, and Bruno Moser, who heads its urban planning division. Increasingly, Foster and Partners is interested in designing whole cities, and in trying to take the sustainability message to the developing world. In Abu Dhabi, it has spent the previous 10 years creating Masdar City, an environmentally friendly community which can eventually grow to a hundred,000 people and during which cars are stored out of the centre, and walking and biking inspired.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic Porsche 968, a performance-focused chassis that took by itself shape since its debut in 1992. The 968 is being celebrated with a particular project car collaboration with French auto vendor and streetwear brand L’Art de L’Automobile.
